# Title Golden Eagle Cooling Off Description "Morley," an injured Golden Eagle (Aquila chrysaetos), tries to cool off on the grass in an outdoor enclosure at Grandfather Mountain in North Carolina. Morley was injured by gunshot in the western U.S. After having the tip of his left wing amputated, he was rehabilitated at the Eagle Propagation Program in Illinois before coming to Grandfather Mountain in 1984. Morley died of natural causes on January 1, 2013. He was about 35 years old.
